BOOK SERIES PROGRESS
Book four
progresses well and first manuscript is now complete. Publication has been
delayed but should be ready soon. Draft chapters
3, 4 & 5 can be reached by clicking
Books
and then Queen's Airman The
Maritime Days. Books link is on the
right hand side of this page.
The three published
books continue to sell and can now be obtained from most good book shops, both
high street and internet.
We enter 2008
with high hopes for the fourth book - Q/A The Maritime Days. So far I've kept
fairly close to the storyline published in 2007; adventure in the Arctic islands
during 1963. The Russians are experimenting with the climate planning to ground
the 'V' Force during the winter of 63/64. Older readers will remember the
terrible European winter of 62/63. Was this the result of an earlier smaller
scale trial?

Dear Hugh,
We met at the V-Force reunion in Newark when I bought the 'Bomber Days'; I
have to say it was a very good read indeed and brought back plenty of memories.
Post- Locking I was at Cottesmore on 10 Sqn (Victor B1s) until it disbanded in
1964 and have of course been to Wittering many times since. Ever thought about a
film of the book?
Keep up the good work, Hugh,
Best regards,
David Kitching

Hi DickS,this is very weird,i retired this
year(july),from RAF Fylingdales after 33years as a civilian technician.Shortly
after i got an email from Lew Juckes,he and his wife came down for a days",do
you remember",and he had heard that you had written a book.I obtained a copy
from Amazon,i really enjoyed it,i dont remember it being quite so exciting on
v-force,but it had its moments.I have just returned from a holiday in
Australia,Melbourne and surrounding area, when i returned there was an email
from black hearted Haynes to say if i was in Sydney to look him up.To close
the loop,my wife works in a shoe shop in Filey she rang this morning to say
she had a customer who was going for an Antarctic holiday would any of their
waterproof boots be any use.I said try the internet there will probably be
some information on Antarctic footwear,i thought i would have a look
myself, and saw the zfids site with your email address.Hence this letter.I live
just outside Filey,my phone number isxxx.Cheers DickF
